Hello! Welcome to Day 6 of Week 4: Mindset!

Yesterday, we discussed the emotional aspect of a SIBO diagnosis. Now, let’s talk about surviving setbacks

Some SIBOers often think that a SIBO treatment plan is always a straight path, but unfortunately, it’s not always a smooth sailing road. There are setbacks and challenges along the way.

There are different setbacks that you may encounter in your SIBO journey. These are the happenings in your life that distract you or challenges that might derail your progress and affect your momentum. Sometimes, setbacks can also be catastrophic or life-changing events that have a lasting and profound impact.

Although we have these setbacks in our lives, we still need to move forward. There are a lot of things that we can do to survive and continue our journey back to health.

Surviving setbacks

Give yourself time to process what’s happening in your life, but don’t dwell on it. Always remember that you can’t change what has happened in the past.

Don’t stress about the things you can’t control. Instead, set short term goals that you can work on. Go for a walk or do some meditation. Do whatever you can do to change your environment. Try to get to bed 15 minutes earlier, move your body for 30 minutes every day, and follow your SIBO diet protocol. Look at the things that are in your control.

The future is yours – focus on that.

Remember, setbacks don’t equal failure. I truly believe they are an excellent learning opportunity. Don’t give up trying to achieve success. The measure of success is getting up more times than you fall over.
